I'm Sad That I'm Flying

A dozen planes shot down
Ones that I built
Built to last
Except that they didn't
One dozen planes
Utterly destroyed
Though they flew straight
Some weren't fast enough
Other planes would get to their targets first
Sometimes the missiles wouldn't fire
Or the bombs wouldn't go
Only one plane even hit its target
But it didn't make it back
One starts to wonder
About building planes
Build to last
Is it even worth it
If none ever make it
If all are failures
...
I just don't know anymore
